Here's a post from Courtney, a familiar face. Courtney is a self proclaimed "Henna Head" but pregnancy and motherhood knocked her off the henna wagon. Well, she's back at it, and wanted to share the experience.

Hey Curly Chic,

I had been a long time since I'd done a henna treatment, and I missed it! My hair was suffering. So, I banished the husband and baby to the basement, got my plastic hair clips out, snatched some saran wrap and went to work!

My routine is very simple. Many henna heads use an array of products to mix in with their henna. I just use water. I apply it to my hair and keep it in no more than 5 hours. So without further ado, here are some pics.

Right after application

Try not to get it on your head like me!

The next day
I was happy with the results. I liked the color it left and I also love how soft it leaves my hair. I'm so back on the wagon!
Till next time Curly Chic..

Apply the paste to clean, dry hair. If it's your first henna treatment, saturate the hair completely. Then wrap it all up with either a plastic bag or some plastic wrap. On top of all that, you might want to wrap a towel, just so you don't frighten the children. Some women use a heated towel. Here's why you absolutely must have done the strand test: It's the only way to know how long to leave the henna on your head. It could be anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours or more.
