My Skin Care Regimen - Updated

Last December I shared my skin regimen which I adopted from The Mop Top Maven.  I have amended it a tad since then and wanted to share.  This is my daily cleansing process.

Once a week, I treat my skin with a DIY mask. I do this on shampoo day, which is usually Sunday.
Ingredients:
·         Bentonite Clay
·         Apple Cider Vinegar
·         Water

What else I use:
·         Plastic bowl
·         Plastic spoon
·         White face cloth (2)
·         Paper towel
I mix about 2/3 of a tbsp of the bentonite clay and 2/3 of a tbsp of apple cider vinegar and a few drops of water in a plastic bowl.  *Note - This is not an exact mixture.  It’s like making pancakes, if you don’t think the mixture thick enough, add more liquid.  If you think it’s too watery, add more clay powder. I stir until it is the consistency similar to pudding.
I then apply a generous amount of the mix all over my face.  The instructions say to leave it on for 5-10 minutes for delicate skin and 15-20 minutes for normal skin.  I generally leave it on for 20 minutes.

Once it starts to harden and crack on your face, literally, it is time to remove.  I take a warm face cloth and apply it to my face to loosen up the mask and gently remove.  I then rinse my face with cold water.  Another clue that it is time to rinse is my face starts to have an itching sensation.
Afterwards I take either a paper towel or another dry face cloth and pat my face dry. I then apply grapeseed oil which is by far my favorite oil for my skin.  I sometimes alternate between Sweet Almond oil and Jojoba oil, but hands down, I love grapeseed.  You can just see how extra clean my face is when I’m done.  It is super clear, super soft and refreshed!

*This mixture is simply for cleansing.  Depending on issues you may be having with your skin, you can add other ingredients.  For example, tea tree oil can be added to aid in treatment of pimples.
When water is added to bentonite, the molecular structure changes and an electrical charge is produced. The clay swells like a sponge, attracting toxins into the mixture and once they are drawn, they are bound to the clay because of the electric charge.
Why I use a plastic bowl vs a metal bowl?  Metal reduces the therapeutic effects of the clay due to the chemical reaction of the metal interacting with the clay.

Share your regimen!  Does it change with the seasons?
