Ouidad Curl Co-Wash Low-Foam Cleansing Conditioner - Product Review

This is part 2 of my Ouidad product review.  Earlier this week, I shared with you my review of the Whipped Curls Daily Conditioner and Styling Primer.  If you missed it, click here.  What I like about both of these products is the fact they are both multipurpose.  It’s almost like having 2 products in one.  This type of product versatility allows you to get so much more use out of it which is always a #winwin.
fresh out of the shower curls

I’ve not ever been a true co-washer as many naturals are.  I have done it from time to time, but it is not a normal part of my hair care regimen.  Mostly because if I saturate my hair, I automatically go to the next step of shampooing.  This is my first time using a product designed specifically for co washing.  I’ve heard about them but honestly chalked it up as gimmick because I always thought “why can’t I just use my regular conditioner to co-wash?”  Well now I get what all the hype is about.  This light sulfate free cleanser is everything!  It’s creamy and full of lather which is a nice surprise for a product with no sulfates.  I immediately grabbed the bottle and began scanning the ingredients in the middle of the cleansing process!  As I looked closely at the ingredients I found “Sodium Lauroamphoacetate” is listed as the second ingredient.  Ah ha!  While this ingredient it is a gentle cleansing agent, is also known for producing lather.  Hence the bubbles those of us who typically use sulfate free shampoos are not used to, which is nice.  The nice thing about this product is, in addition to the added moisture, you are still getting the benefit of cleansing properties minus the stripping that accompanies many shampoos.  Like the Whipped Curls, it is also water based, which equals moisture.  Need another reason to try it?  There are no parabens or silicones for those who are ingredient conscious.
Ouidad’s Curl Co Wash is not just another product trying to bully it’s way in the naturally curly hairworld, it actually lives up to its claims:

leaves hair moisturized, soft & frizz-free while gently clearing hair of buildup”

One more thing which is cosmetic in nature, I love the pump dispenser which makes for easy application.  No unscrewing tops or popping lids with sudsy, slippery hands in the shower.  I also love the usage directions as it relates to how many pumps to use per section based on length.  Talk about specific!  No more “am I using too much or too little” scenerios going on.

Product Rating: 5 out of 5 curls
