College Curl Confessions, Tionne, Guest Blogger

Awhile ago I shared with you how my daughter, Tionne was wearing her hair while away at school.  She has since taken the mini twists down after wearing them for 3 weeks.  I asked her to what she did to remove them and she shared these steps:
·    applied Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner conditioner to dry hair
·    separated the twists into about 8 sections
·    unraveled each twist one by one (approximately 2 hours)
·    gently comb out each small section
·    after all the twists were out, I combined the 8 small sections into 4 larger sections
·    applied more conditioner and sprayed Mane n’ Tail detangler throughout and proceeded   with a more thorough detangling
·    let a cheapie conditioner sit on my hair for about 30 minutes
·    after that I shampooed my hair in the shower and only had to finger detangle because of the prep work prior to shampooing

Winter plans/goals for your hair:
·    more frequent mini twisting and leave them in for 3-4 weeks
·    I like to wear my hair straight in the winter so I will probably straighten it after removing the twists but only use the heat on that first day
·    hopefully retain some more length
·    take Biotin more faithfully (2x per day)
·    take a multivitamin
·    5 almonds/day – “In the quest for luxurious locks, many people spend hundreds of dollars on hair products and expensive treatments every year. Between time-consuming visits to the salon and expensive trips to beauty stores, most people never consider that one of the best hair care products available sits on the shelf at their local grocery store. When eaten regularly, almonds protect the body against heart disease, diabetes and weight gain. Interestingly, they also pack a powerful punch in promoting healthy hair growth.”  Source: Livestrong.com. Click here for the rest of the article.
·    overnight deep conditioning
·    incorporate more beanies and hats

OPI Shatter Polish - Product Review - Tionne, Guest Teen Blogger

My daughter, Tionne, went to get her nails done a little over a week ago and wanted to share her OPI experience.  Letgo!

I went to an Asian Nail Spa called VIP Nails to get my acrylics balanced.  My normal nail tech was not there so I sat in another tech's chair eager to try the new OPI Black Shatter polish.  Since I wasn't sure how I would like it or IF I would like it,
